A safer, more versatile
and cost effective alternative to conventional underground
ladderways.
Installed in a 1.5m diameter raisebored
hole, ETS avoids the need for hand-rising. The rise is inclined
between 68° and 72° for safe climbing. Casing may be grouted or
backfilled depending on ground conditions, groundwater inflow and
acidity.
Approved for use in any hardrock
underground situation. No restrictions apply to the rise length,
other than the practical limitations of raiseboring. ETS will
accommodate 6m and 9m ladders and variable sublevel intervals, and
is designed to carry air, electrical, telephone and water services.
Design allows rapid, safe stretcher evacuation – stretcher trolley
uses ladder guides as rails giving unimpeded, straight pull-through.
Self closing trapdoors limit fall hazard.
Cost savings of ETS arise from faster
and safer installation, and low maintenance costs of the escapeway
and installed services. Major savings are realised when compared
against cost of laying in services via declines.
